    WAYMOR SPORTS, Chief Advisement Officer

     

    Chris plays a pivotal role in shaping and guiding WAYMOR’s strategic direction, working closely with the executive team to drive the company’s success through effective advisement and strategic planning.
    In his role, Chris is responsible for:

    • Corporate Legal Strategy: Overseeing and formulating strategies to ensure the protection and advancement of the company’s interests.
    • Franchiser Negotiations and Strategy: Lead negotiations and strategy development with The Picklr to optimize business opportunities and enhance relationships.
    • Capital Raising: Assisting in securing funding for the company’s development and its clubs by providing investor leads and advising on investment opportunities.
    • Internal Audit and Compliance: Establishing and managing internal audit processes and corporate compliance programs to ensure adherence to regulations and policies.
    • Government and Community Relations: Facilitating interactions with local, state, and federal entities, legislatures, and the community, to advance the company’s objectives.
    • Policy Formation: Participating in creating and implementing general management policies to drive the company’s growth and operational efficiency.
    • Real Estate and M&A: Overseeing real estate purchases, lease agreements, and mergers and acquisitions to support the company’s expansion and operational needs.

     

    Relativity Media, Vice President of Basketball Operations

     

    While in law school, Chris began representing NBA and international players under his first company, Court Vision XL. Chris later teamed up with Happy Walters, COO of Relativity Media, to create a sports division for the well-known movie production company.

    What started as a small, basketball-only division, with some well known players, quickly grew. By 2015, Relativity Sports was ranked #3 on Forbes list of multi-sport agencies, and Chris was ranked in the top 50 NBA agents.

     

    The Sports Law Group, PLLC, Managing Partner

     

    Chris left Relativity to become the Managing Partner of The Sports Law Group, PLLC – a D.C.-based law firm. In addition to representing professional athletes and college coaches, the firm also advised players and universities on NCAA compliance matters.

    In late 2020, Chris became the first pro Pickleball agent in the U.S. when he began representing pros in contractual matters, which led him to represent such notable pros such as world #2 Catherine Parenteau, Callie Smith, Riley and Lindsey Newman, and Lea Jansen.

     

    United Pickleball Association (formerly Pickleball Inc.) Deputy Commissioner

     

    Chris joined the PPA Tour team at Pickleball Inc., after nearly 15 years in the sports industry. His role at UPA includes working closely with CEO and PPA Commissioner, Connor Pardoe, acting as his right-hand man in matters of business, law, and the pickleball industry at large.

     

    Personal Anchors

     

    Chris is an avid and accomplished pickleball player, sporting a 5.0 DUPR rating and multiple gold and silver medals, including wins at the U.S. Open, as well as several PPA, APP, and USAPA regional tournaments. Chris is also an IPTPA Level II instructor and he enjoys being on the court and giving lessons whenever possible.
    Chris is a member of the D.C. Bar, the American Bar Association, and the Sports Lawyers Association.
