One of his standout accomplishments involved orchestrating the successful assessment and swift implementation of a new revenue system within a multi-billion-dollar national healthcare system. This extensive project spanned over 150 locations nationwide, showcasing his adeptness in orchestrating large-scale, impactful changes.

His pivotal role in managing numerous military research and development projects, each with multi-million-dollar budgets, underscored his ability to navigate stringent government regulations and congressional oversight seamlessly. These experiences honed his skill in managing complex initiatives, while adhering to rigorous compliance standards.

Oracle – Business Consultant

Ben was one of a two-member team that successfully assessed and swiftly implemented a new revenue system within Encompass Health’s multi-billion-dollar system that spanned 155 locations nationwide in less than six months. It accommodated the needs of being able to identify potential rejected insurance approvals, provided accurate estimates, coordinated precise insurance verification through Experian technology, processed claims, and developed custom worklists to track discrepancies. The implementation was coordinated throughout the country and flawlessly rolled out to all locations simultaneously without interruption to service.

Xelltech – Technical Consultant

Ben worked as support on projects for multiple contracts, troubleshooting problems that included identifying functional issues of applications, aliasing, backend tables, and payment processing.

Natick Soldier Research – Finance Management

Managed the cost centers for military research and development projects, each with multi-million-dollar budgets, underscored his ability to navigate stringent government regulations and congressional oversight seamlessly. Conducted end-of-fiscal-year reconciliation and auditing of all accounts at the center. These experiences honed his skill in managing complex initiatives, while adhering to rigorous compliance standards.

Personal Background

Ben's childhood was shaped by the changing landscapes of a military family. Born in Iceland, his early years were a tapestry woven with experiences from across the globe. By the tender age of 13, he had called Canada, Washington D.C., Hawaii, and California home before settling in Alabama for his formative years.

Fueled by a spirit of adventure and a desire to serve, Ben embarked on his own military journey, enlisting in the U.S. Navy as a Hospital Corpsman in April 2001. Over his remarkable eleven years of active duty, seven were devoted to the U.S. Marine Corps. Immersed in the rigors of military life, Ben found himself serving in infantry battalions within the 2nd and 1st Marine Divisions. Combat and operational deployments became a defining part of his journey, marked by unwavering dedication and service to his country, molding him into the resilient individual he is today.

Ben holds a Bachelor of Science in Applied Economics from the University of Connecticut, a foundation that laid the groundwork for his multifaceted career. He continues to expand his expertise and network by being an active member of esteemed professional associations such as the American College of Healthcare Executives, the Healthcare Financial Management Association, and the American Economic Association. Additionally, he is on the path to becoming a Certified Financial Analyst (CFA), further cementing his dedication to excellence and professional growth.
